Software Engineer

Job summary
The job is in Beijing and will report to the head of the NPI group in Fremont, California.  The person will be closely working with the Software Group in the US to develop system software to support field issues, continuous development projects, and new product development.  He or she will be required to travel to the US to get training and to support urgent projects from time to time.

Responsibilities:
The System Software Engineer is responsible for system software development to support field issues, continuous improvement projects, or new product development.  The primary job functions are:
1. Coding in C++ for system software developing
2. Develop infrastructure to support software development
3. Root cause analysis for software issues
4. Problem solving for system level issues related to system software
5. Translate system specs to software specs
6. Develop software spec


Qualifications:
1. Skillful in programming (any programming language will do)
2. Having experience in building ore creating a mechanical, electrical, or a software system
3. Knowledge in computer architecture and operation system
4. Knowledge or experience in communication network
5. Demonstrate system level understanding
6. Willing to learn new things
7. Good problem-solving skills


Education requirements
A bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, system, computer, robotics engineering, or related field such as physics is a minimum.  A master’s degree in those fields is preferred.
