Validation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Response to validate the system and silicon for internal design teams.
• Perform the Software and Hardware level test using external and internal AMD test tools.
• Analyze the failures found in testing and support the internal design team to find the root cause of the issues.
• Assist validation team in improving the validation methods and procedures.
• Test software/drivers/hardware, for according to test plan steps and details.
• Reference design specifications and manuals for AMD's system when testing.

• Excellent PC x86 Architecture experience and excellent system level knowledge of the following: CPU Processor, Memory, PCI-Express, HDMI, DVI, Display Port, VGA, SATA, USB etc.
• Good understanding of 3D Graphics, video decode/encode a valuable bonus.
• Computer enthusiasts and excellent knowledge of current leading PC technology.
• Highly motivated, innovative individual with a keen interest in finding and resolving silicon/platform issues.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Linux and Windows network setup knowledge. Extensive Linux expertise and experience is a valuable bonus.
• Perl, Ruby, programming skills and command line scripting preferred.
