Company Description
Synaptics' Sr. Software Driver Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of major new products and features. Responsibilities will also include working with other departments to turn requirements into feasible specifications, and specifications into design and implementation. Our Sr. Software Driver Engineer will be required to have extensive systems experience ranging from "big picture" problem analysis down to implementation. Must have a strong background in software architecture and structured design techniques. Must have experience with C/C++ and/or C#. A BS or greater, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities and must have the capability to mentor junior team members.
 
Job Responsibilities

• To design, writing, programming Investigate problems and identify robust solutions quickly
• To participate in pre-scoping and scoping activity
• To fulfill/satisfy customer needs; provide onsite support when needed
• Work closely with members of the software team and cross functional teams to develop quality products

• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience software development
• Excellent communication, reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Linux device driver development
• Experience with C/C++ and/or C# languages
• Experience with object oriented design and programming
• Experience in HID and USB protocols is a plus
• Experience with design and implementation of software development tools
• Can work under time pressure in response to customer's dynamic changes
• Strong teamwork orientation
• Customer-oriented attitude
• Familiarity with the Windows or Linux environment and PC architecture
• Good organizational and project management skills
• Willing to travel (mostly in Asia)
